Aloe Vera y sus aplicaciones en fitoterapia y fitocosmética
Aloe Vera, sinónimo: Sábila. El gran aliado de la piel. Los productos de la línea Aloe Vera de Universo Garden Angels, se recomiendan para cuando estamos más expuestos a los efectos del sol. Sus flores presentan una tonalidad variable: pueden ser rojas o amarillas, en forma de espiga piramidal.
Por un lado se usan sus hojas que contienen el gel (porción mucilaginosa del parénquima tisular). Cuando se extrae el gel crudo, se estabiliza en aras de conservar todos sus componentes. Esa es la parte más apreciada de la planta desde el punto de vista cosmético, ya que en fitocosmética sus efectos son maravillosos.
Las plantas más expuestas al sol fabrican menos pulpa pero más látex. También se utiliza el jugo cuándo se desea emplear Aloe Vera con fines medicinales. Deben elegirse siempre ejemplares de 4 a 5 años de edad.
Se escogerán las hojas inferiores que suelen ser más antiguas y las más ricas en los principios activos. No es conveniente regar las plantas los cinco días anteriores al corte, a efectos de concentrar mejor sus componentes activos. El corte de las hojas se realiza finalizada la floración, para prevenir la pérdida del látex. Las mismas deben ser cortadas en la base cerca del tallo.
En los tiempos antiguos y en especial en Egipto se fabricaba un elixir de larga vida con contenido del jugo del Aloe Vera, según se leyó en el papiro de Ebers en el siglo XVI antes de Cristo.
También fueron encontrados dibujos de Aloe en las tumbas de los faraones.

La aplicación del extracto en forma de gel, promueve la regeneración de la piel, siendo este dato sumamente importante.
