Exfoliación, la necesidad de renovar la piel.
La exfoliación es el proceso de regeneración celular de la piel. Se da naturalmente, pero en muchas ocasiones debemos ayudarnos con aliados naturales y productos que contribuyen a este proceso de limpieza y renovación.
A cada instante la dermis produce células nuevas y se regenera asegurando su renovación permanente. También permanentemente están muriendo las células que han envejecido y quedan depositadas junto a las impurezas. Estas células producen descamación y si no se eliminan, impiden la buena regeneración de la epidermis y obstruyen la óptima penetración de otros productos que se puedan aplicar sobre la piel (ya sea para humectar o nutrir).
La exfoliación es una limpieza profunda que se realiza con suavidad y que proporciona múltiples beneficios: previene el envejecimiento cutáneo activando la circulación, desintoxica naturalmente la epidermis, permite una mejor oxigenación de la misma y proporciona inmediatamente una piel suave y tersa.
Aunque la piel se renueva naturalmente cada 30 días aproximadamente, los poros pueden llegar a obstruirse debido a problemas tan comunes como: irregularidades hormonales, transpiración y toxinas acumuladas, el estrés y una alimentación desequilibrada. Por eso hay que exfoliarla, es decir ayudarla a eliminar impurezas en capas superficiales de la piel, que en poco tiempo induce a una renovación celular en las capas más profundas: las células se multiplican desde abajo y tienden a subir de nuevo a la superficie, proporcionando una piel limpia y luminosa, más tersa y evidentemente más rejuvenecida.
Todas las pieles necesitan exfoliarse. Es cierto que según el tipo de piel, una lo necesitan más que otras. Las pieles grasas tienen mayor tendencia a obstruir los poros de la piel y acumular impurezas en formas de espinillas y puntos negros, al igual que las pieles acneicas. También sucede con pieles muy engrosadas, que se han expuesto mucho tiempo al sol y tienen más acentuadas las arrugas. En estos casos una exfoliación, además de suponer una oxigenación para la piel, ayuda a minimizar arruguitas y dar un aspecto más joven. Las exfoliaciones únicamente están desaconsejadas para pieles extremadamente sensibles, ya que los agentes de arrastres pueden agredir la capa superficial de la piel y potenciar afecciones cutáneas. Cuando hay lesiones o rosácea, no se deben hacer exfoliaciones.
Los exfoliantes se aplican y se frotan en la piel seca (con manos húmedas) ya que así la capacidad de arrastre es mayor. Se masajea unos minutos y se retira, con una toalla húmeda. La sensación es la de una piel absolutamente suave. Al arrastrar, también arrastramos la grasa de la piel. Por eso tras la exfoliación, siempre es necesario rehidratar en profundidad la piel para nutrirla.
Además estos nutrientes actuarán con más eficacia al aplicarse sobre una piel limpia. El caso de los geles de baño exfoliantes, es ideal para cumplir un doble proceso de limpieza del cuerpo y suave exfoliación.
